We’re one more step closer to uploading our books to Shutterfly. This is the week we finish up our digital spreads with journaling and titles. You’ll learn how to add and adjust text to fit your layouts. You’ll also learn how to manipulate type to create a unique title that adds meaning to your page. We’re almost finished…just two more weeks to go. You’ll definitely want to join me on the adventure next week…we’re designing our covers!

Last week I heard that Jessica Sprague had announced a call for Creative Team members. I debated whether to join in on the call for several days and finally decided to just go for it! What have I got to lose, right? So, here are my entries. I could only pick three of my favorite layouts. Boy was that a challenge! I love so many of them…all for different reasons. Some have great journaling. Others have unique details. But, with some help from my family, I finally narrowed it down to these…what d’ya think?

My Digital Photobook Adventure continues with Week #2…

I’m super excited for this week’s adventure…it’s the week I get to share my digital kit at Love that Shot! I’ve designed some fun quick-pages (templates) which all the beginners are sure to fall in love with. And for the more advanced scrappers following along on my adventure, I’ve thrown in some papers and overlays for you to create your own pages as well!

Here’s what you’ll get in the Digital Adventure Kit… 20 Quick-pages, 10 Coordinating Papers, and 4 Overlays.

We’re also learning how to navigate through the Shutterfly site, to download the templates that will make creating our book so much easier. Here’s a little sneak peek at what we’ll be creating in the coming weeks…

I had to postpone the release of this week’s Digital Adventure tutorial due to a family emergency last week. I’m putting the finishing touches on the downloadable digital kit and the Adventure will continue with Week #2 on Monday, March 22nd. Thank you so much for your patience!

Join me on my Six Week Digital Photobook Adventure over at Love that Shot!

This Valentine’s Day is a special one for me, it’s the first Valentine’s Day I get to spend with my new husband. (I apologize in advance if any of this gets to be a tad mushy…after all, it is the nature of the holiday!) When it came time to sit down and create a layout especially for Valentine’s Day, I had this image run through my mind of a love-struck teenager doodling in her notebook when she should be studying algebra…complete with hearts and xoxox’s. And there I had it! The perfect idea for a digital layout… because even though I’m far from being that teenager sitting in math class, I don’t think we’re ever too old to be that love-struck! So here’s to a first of many Valentine’s with my guy Steve, I love you!

As you all know, I like to call myself a citified country girl. I’ll tell you why… I’m from a small town in Oregon (by small, I mean really small!) and we moved away when I was about ten years old. Well, this fall Steve and I had a chance to take a trip to my old hometown and visited the places I used to go as a little girl. We visited the elementary school where I used to play on the swings and jungle gym. We visited where my house once stood and the church we went to, just a hop, skip and a jump from our front door…almost literally! ha! I turned into a storyteller as we went to each of these places. I was amazed at how much detail came back to me as we walked around the places where I used to play…and sometimes cause trouble! Yes, I was a bit fiesty as a youngster, my family might even say I still am… who, me? (insert innocent look here)
