Sweet Shot Tuesday | Forgotten Times

by Misti on August 16, 2010

Have you ever wanted to take a walk back in time and visit an era that’s long been forgotten? Well, if I had the chance, you can bet I’d go back to the Nineteen Forties.  It was so much more simple back then…time didn’t fly by so fast and there was just a certain charm to…well…just about everything…the way of life, the automobiles, the fashion. Oh, the fashion…what I wouldn’t give to go back and gather up a few pairs of those Forties-style heals. But that’s a bit off subject…

This last weekend, my family and I took a walk back in time and experienced a quieter side of life….and I discovered a new love…Vintage Boats! As you all know, I absolutely love shooting vintage cars, so when I heard about a Vintage Boat Show held in our area, I was overflowing with excitement! I’ve never had the opportunity to shoot vintage boats before, and I was anxious to experiment with this new subject matter. As soon as I hit the docks, I was unstopable. I found my groove and lost myself in a forgotten era…

Very cool! I wasn’t yet born in the 40s but by the early 60s we were fishing in Northern California in, what is now, vintage boat. I have some delightful, albeit smelly and slightly sea-sick, family memories of those sweet times – thank you :)

Hi I found you through SITS 31DBBB and I think your shots are gorgeous and amazing. I love that the first boat’s name was Forgotten Times that is just so precious to me. I do have a question that you posted about a magazine called How. I’m very interested it seeing what that magazine is. Can you send me a link to it? Again, your pictures are amazing and you have a new fan.

Hi Candice, thank you so much for your sweet comment! How magazine is one of my favorite graphic design industry magazines. They have annuals geared towards specialized themes like photography, design, and interactive media. I find so much inspiration in this magazine, you’ll love it! Here’s a link to their website (I also emailed it to you): http://www.howdesign.com/GeneralMenu/
