Night out with Owl City!

by Misti on March 31, 2010

I love live music. I blame Michelle for this. She took me to my first concert when I was just a Junior in High School. She broke me out of the music rut I was in at the time and introduced me to some pretty crazy stuff. We’ve seen Poison, Cinderella, Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, Matchbox 20…and that’s just naming a few. Going to concerts became our thing. It still is really. But now we take our husbands along for the ride too!

Last night we all went to the Owl City concert. We had a blast. I love it when the music is so loud you can barely hear the person standing next to you and the base is so intense that you can feel it vibrate through your entire body…so COOL! I was surprised when the opening bands came on. They were actually good. It’s usually a struggle for me to wait it out for the headlining band. But this time I actually enjoyed myself the entire time! I was impressed by the band, Paper Route. I liked their sound. If you haven’t heard of them before, check out the video I posted below. You’ll see what I mean…they have a pretty cool sound.

At the risk of being thrown out…I snapped a couple pics. Don’t hate me, they are a tad blurry. Would you believe I did that on purpose…ya know, for dramatic effect? ;)

I got a couple members of Paper Route to sign my ticket…I couldn’t help it, they were standing right there. I had to say “Hi!”

I loved this song! Your blog entry totally reminds me of the first concert I ever went to — Three Dog Night — in 1976!!!!!! Wow, I’m really dating myself, but who cares! I still feel 20 years old!
