My Journey into the Past

by Misti on November 24, 2009

As you all know, I like to call myself a citified country girl. I’ll tell you why… I’m from a small town in Oregon (by small, I mean really small!) and we moved away when I was about ten years old. Well, this fall Steve and I had a chance to take a trip to my old hometown and visited the places I used to go as a little girl. We visited the elementary school where I used to play on the swings and jungle gym. We visited where my house once stood and the church we went to, just a hop, skip and a jump from our front door…almost literally! ha! I turned into a storyteller as we went to each of these places. I was amazed at how much detail came back to me as we walked around the places where I used to play…and sometimes cause trouble! Yes, I was a bit fiesty as a youngster, my family might even say I still am… who, me? (insert innocent look here)

Well, as one of our new releases this week at OpenScrapbook, I decided to do a digital tutorial using my hometown adventure with Steve as inspiration. Here’s a little sneak peek…if you’d like to learn how I created this page, you’re in luck! Stacy Julian, a leader in the scrapbooking industry, is giving away a one year free membership to OpenScrapbook on her blog this week. And there’s still time to enter, so click on over and enter to WIN! Good Luck! And to everyone who doesn’t win, she’s giving 20% off the membership price, just use the coupon code she has posted!
